El Caldito Soup Kitchen will host its annual Veterans Dinner Saturday, June 18, from 1 – 4 p.m. This event is free to all veterans and their partners. The Soup Kitchen is located at 999 W. Amador on the campus of Mesilla Valley Community of Hope behind Horse ‘n Hound.

The social hour from 1 – 2 p.m. will give guests an opportunity to renew old friendships and make new ones. The Las ruces Ukes, a community group of ukulele enthusiasts, will perform a variety of patriotic and popular tunes during the social hour. The Oñate High School JR NROTC will again present the colors and assist with serving the brisket dinner.

Gabe Anaya, interim president of the El Caldito volunteer board of directors, is looking forward seeing all the veterans and their partners who attend this event. He appreciates the strong support that the soup kitchen receives from the greater Las Cruces community throughout the year.

“This support makes it possible to host this special dinner to our area veterans who have done so much for our country,” Anaya says.
