A Las Cruces Arts Association members art exhibition, themed Of Peace, Beauty and Caring, is being held in the sanctuary of the First Christian Church, 1809 El Paseo, across from the Las Cruces High School. The exhibit will have an opening reception Sunday, September 4, from 12 – 2 p.m. and continue through October 28. The exhibit is open for viewing during limited church hours, Saturdays 9 a.m. – 12 noon, Sundays 11:30 –1 p.m.
It will also be open during First Christian Church’s Bizarre Bazaar on October 1, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. This event will include all-day entertainment, Kiddie Kourt and playground activities, bake goods sale, arts and crafts, a coloring book page exhibit, emergency response vehicles, silent auction, grab bag raffle, garden goods sale, a Safe Haven Animal booth, community non-profit booths, and food and ice cream trucks.
Art is being accepted for the coloring book page exhibit. The number of pages, the subject and the medium is the artist choice. The page(s) should each be mounted in the middle of a white poster board, cut to 12 by 18 inches. Pages may be for exhibition only or sold by the artist with 10 percent donated to the church. A People’s Choice Prize will be awarded.
