Sisters Day celebration

SWS Report | August, 2016 | Articles, Community Calendar

August 7, the first Sunday in August, is your chance to show your appreciation for that special family relationship. It’s a day to acknowledge the connection between siblings or that special friend who you consider a sister in spirit.

Join Casa Camino Real in a celebration from 4 – 6 p.m. as they gather to thank those special women who have provided us with the love and support only a sister can.

Bring your sister, or someone who is like a sister, and celebrate with sisterly events including a reading, book give away, and potluck. In addition, sister books and art will be on sale. Bring your favorite sister book to share with another sister. Also bring poetry, a song to sing, and photos and memorabilia for the sisters altar.

A free book will be given to sisters who attend together and sisters will be eligible for gift basket raffle of books about sisters. A reading of sisterly poetry or prose will take place at 5 p.m. with a potluck reception following. Attendees are invited to bring their sister’s favorite food to share.

Casa Camino Real Book Store & Art Gallery is located at 314 South Tornillo Street near the corner of Amador and Tornillo next to the Tanned Calf Leather Store in Las Cruces.
