CEO of Detroit Downtown Partnership to share ideas in Las Cruces

There will be a presentation by Eric Larson, CEO of Detroit Downtown Partnership, Tuesday, March 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Las Cruces City Hall in the City Council Chambers.

Larson will be in Las Cruces to share the incredible story of the renaissance of Downtown Detroit, and how their lessons learned can translate to Las Cruces. There will be time for Q & A and an interactive discussion with Larson.

The Las Cruces/Detroit Delegation met Larson in Detroit, along with CEOs of Rock Ventures (holding company for Dan Gilbert/Quicken Loans’ 120 companies), Tech Town Detroit, Automation Alley and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). The Las Cruces delegation included Councilor Gill Sorg, Commissioner Billy Garrett, MVEDA CEO Davin Lopez, Bob Pofahl of LCCP, Kevin Boberg of NMSU, and was hosted by Orlando Padilla, Padilla NetWorks LLC. CEO/President Orlando Padilla, a former General Motors executive, now resides in Las Cruces.

In mid-2014, Larson took over the role of CEO of The Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP), an organization whose board he has been a member of since 1995. The DDP is a private/public partnership of corporate and civic leaders that supports, advocates and develops programs and initiatives that create a clean, safe, and inviting downtown community.

Larson is also the founder, president, and chief executive officer of Larson Realty Group (established in 1999), a privately owned, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan-based company engaged in real estate investment, development, asset management and leasing. Larson has over 30 years of experience in real estate and prior to establishing Larson Realty Group, served as vice president of the global real estate company, Hines. During Larson’s career he has developed, financed, owned and managed over $3 billion of real estate, including; General Motor’s purchase and redevelopment of the Renaissance Center (5.5 million square feet), the development of One Detroit Center (1 million square feet), and the A.
