Four of Las Cruces’ top chefs will be coming together to make a special night of celebration more delectable than ever. Chefs John Hartley, Tom Drake, Arturo Tovar and Felipe Alvarez will be teaming up to create a fantastic feast for the Oscars for Champions Gala for Jardin de los Niños. The black-tie red-carpet event is scheduled for April 1 at 6 p.m. at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum and will celebrate 21 individuals in the community who have done an outstanding job of serving our community’s children. The menu was created by the chefs as a way of celebrating spring, and features the following: Spring vegetable Chop Chop salad with spent grain cracklin’s and Chipotle Raspberry Vinaigrette made by Chef Drake, Lamb Chop with tomato-mint marmalade over greens made by Chef Hartley, Seasoned Cornish Game Hen and Cous Cous with flavors of cardamom, lemons, touches of Greek yogurt, almonds and a balsamic vinaigrette reduction made by Chef Alvarez, and Crema di Zabaione con Amaretti served with fresh berries and almond cookie crumbles. Tickets for the event are $75, and can be purchased by calling Jardin de los Niños at 522-2111.
